  • Yemanjo is a project of producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Harris. Raised in the rich culture of California’s Bay Area, Harris’ work is influenced by the global music styles he has encountered through extensive world travels.

Yemanjo’s music is a unique fusion of downtempo and organic house beats with traditional sounds from Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. The previous five years have seen Yemanjo touring the globe while releasing prolifically with top labels in the genre such as Cosmic Awakenings and Cafe de Anatolia.  2024 saw the release of “La Misma Fuente”, an acclaimed full-length album on NYC-based imprint Wonderwheel Recordings.

In performance, Yemanjo combines his original music with live singing in many languages, trumpet, percussion, and other instruments in an electro-acoustic hybrid DJ/live set.

In an industry where so much music sounds the same and most DJs offer little in the way of performance value, Yemanjo brings a refreshing sonic diversity and decades of experience as a dynamic live performer and frontman.

  • At the young age of 7, Zach’s journey in music began when he became close friends with his next-door neighbors, the children of the late legendary drummer, Jeff Porcaro. Through spending time at Jeff’s house in Orlando, Florida, Zach was exposed to the life of a musician and first sat down behind a set of drums. He quickly discovered his natural talent and passion for music and rhythm. Making music has been his life’s focus ever since.

Zach attended the Music and Performing Arts magnet program at Dr. Phillips High School where he learned to master rudimentary skills, serving as the captain of the drum-line and studying privately with jazz greats, Danny Gottlieb and Joe Morello. His musical education continued at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music where he was awarded scholarship for a Jazz Drums major in the Studio Music and Jazz Bachelors program. During his time at UM, he quickly became one of the most sought after drummers in school and in the greater Miami and South Florida area. He performed regularly with many of the local hip-hop, reggae, and rock bands while working steadily in the corporate top-40 circuit.

With a desire to expand his opportunities across the music world, Zach moved to Los Angeles in 2012. He quickly found work as a touring drummer for internationally acclaimed artists RHYE, Childish Gambino, and Groundation and has traveled the world performing at the biggest and best festivals and venues like Coachella, Red Rocks, and The Hollywood Bowl. In addition, he has been creating and developing his own unique sound and identity through music production and djing. As the artist ‘Morillo’, Zach has released three albums, three ep's, and a multitude of singles and remixes on established labels such as Gravitas Recordings, Muti Music, High Vibe Records, Tribal Trap, Hybrid Trap, Simplify, and Play Me Records. As he continues to build his project, Zach’s music has been celebrated by music lovers and DJ's on stages and at festivals around the world.

  • I Am a Creative, Producer, Remixer, and Deejay
My sound is urban organic, global bass, world music that sounds like psychedelic dancehall, pure sunshine, dolphins n daiquiris, seretonin head rushes, spirit calls of the congo, high andes mate' sessions, brazilian carnival, cumbias accordion pumping, and Hawaiian chanting. I work with music that has the Human finger print on it and makes you come alive.
Nadi music is sustainable, gluten free, alkalizing, raw, wild harvested from the 4 corners of the round world in alignment w my highest intention, and holding space for your booty to bounce. Namaste ;)
My name Nadi is derived from a sanskrit. The literal meaning of Nadi is 'pipe' 'tube' or 'stream'. Nadis are not nerves but rather channels for the flow of consciousness. Just as the negative and positive forces of electricity flow through complex circuits, mana filled music flows through every part of our dancing body via the Nadi.

It wasn’t always just me…..

in the beginning, there were five of us.

Four of us had moved up from the Bay Area, where we'd been dancing regularly in the 5Rhythms practice in Sausalito. Dance was our oxygen. We had to have it. So we decided to start our own.

We started dancing on August 19th, 2010.

One room at St. Joseph's Cultural Center in Grass Valley. Metal-tiled walls. Speakers we hauled in and out every single week. It was scrappy. It was intimate. It was ours.

In 2013, we moved to Miners Foundry in the heart of Nevada City—and everything changed.

Bigger space. A sound system that could finally hold us.

That move put EDNC on the map.

Word spread. Dancers traveled to Nevada City—some passing through, some coming to work, some even relocating just for the dance community. Many made the pilgrimage specifically to experience this floor. They'd dance with us, then carry the story back out into the world.

Over the years, I've watched ecstatic dance spread globally. Hundreds of floors now exist around the world, each one carrying the lineage forward. So many people who currently hold ecstatic dance in their hometowns started as dancers on this floor in Nevada City. Without ever intending to, we became a training ground. An incubator. A place where people learned what it means to hold space.

A DJ recently called EDNC "the epicenter of Ecstatic Dance."

We don't take that lightly. We're honored to be one of the originators—one of the spaces that's held this practice since the beginning, one of the floors that helped shape what ecstatic dance has become.

Fifteen years later, i’m still here. Still holding space. Still dancing.

This is EDNC. Welcome home.
